TBC CP gifts fall short of budget

BRENTWOOD — Tennessee Baptist Convention churches gave $3,344,985 through the Cooperative Program in October.
Though a gallant effort, gifts fell short of the 2008-09 budget by $3,526,920 or 9.04 percent. CP gifts for the year totaled $35,473,080, missing last year’s total giving by $1,613,148 or 4.3 percent. The TBC budget year runs from Nov. 1-Oct. 31.
TBC Executive Director James Porch expressed appreciation to Tennessee Baptists for their support through the Cooperative Program. “Thank you, Tennessee Baptists, for continued support of Convention ministries through this difficult season of financial stress. Only our Heavenly Father knows the full measure of blessing through each Cooperative Program dollar.”
