BRENTWOOD — An East Tennessee pastor and a retired pastor and publisher have been enlisted to write Sunday School commentaries for the June-August quarter.
Josh Lancaster, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Rockwood, will write the Explore the Bible series.
Lancaster is the current second vice president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention and serves on the TBC Executive Board.
He is a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C., and holds the master of divinity with biblical languages degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C.
Lancaster and his wife, Krissie, have three children.
Johnnie C. Godwin, a member of First Baptist Church, Hendersonville, will write the Bible Studies for Life series.
Godwin served as pastor of several churches in Texas and as an interim and supply pastor of several churches in Tennessee.
He served in six positions at the Baptist Sunday School Board (now LifeWay Christian Resources). At the time of his retirement due to downsizing he was vice president of the general trade publishing.
Godwin is the author of eight books and is a regular columnist for the Baptist and Reflector since 2003.
Godwin and his wife, Phyllis, live in Hendersonville.
