BRENTWOOD — Tennessee Baptist Convention churches ended the 2012-13 fiscal year on a positive note.
After two successive months of CP gifts below $3 million, Tennessee Baptists gave a total of $3,370,350 through the Cooperative Program in October.
The strong push at the end enabled Tennessee Baptists to end the year with $34,288,947. The total is $1,396,029 or 3.9 percent below what was given last year.
The amount also is $2,711,053 below budgeted needs for the year.
“Tennessee Baptists gave over $34 million to support Great Commission work in Tennessee, North America, and around the globe during the last 12 months. That is worth celebrating,” said Randy C. Davis, TBC executive director/treasurer.
“This was a challenging year for many of our churches economically and missing our projected CP budget goals reflects that reality,” he continued.
“On behalf of all of our TBC and SBC ministry partners, thank you to all of our churches that gave systematically, faithfully, and generously through the Cooperative Program,” Davis said.
