Monday, November 9, 2009 West Jackson Baptist Church, Jackson   Today the pressure on those of us in the ministry is greater than ever before. While we never need compare ourselves to someone else and feel inadequate, we do need to faithfully and energetically fulfill the call that God has placed on our hearts. That is the basis for this year’s Pastors Conference. The Preacher’s Power: Inside and Out is our theme. During each session, we will exegete Matthew 6:33 which says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you as well.” Each preacher comes to us with a wealth of experience and a heart for God and His preachers. We will conclude with the Preacher’s Proclamation: Jesus Christ! Don’t miss a session because God wants to bless and encourage you. My earnest prayer and expectation is that our Lord will inhabit the worship of His people. I want to thank my former church family, the Springfield Baptist Church for their generosity in contributing to this event. I want to thank my current church family, the First Baptist Church of Millington, for the many kindnesses they have shared with their new pastor and family. The TBC has been most helpful and has assisted financially in this effort. I couldn’t have put this together without the support of these groups. I also want to thank you in advance for your generous offering support. Your gifts provide the foundation for this event annually. It has been a privilege to be your Tennessee Baptist Pastors Conference President this year. It is indeed an honor to serve God’s choicest servants!
