Sessions for Choir Members - Paul Clark, Tennessee Baptist Convention, Brentwood, TN
Understanding the role of the choir member in music ministry and in worship.  It's not hobby singing. Participants will recieve free copies of anthems that we will rehearse and talk about how to make the music become ministry for Sunday worshipers who will hear you sing it. Send me your choir members, folks!  I hope to encourage them as your partner in worship ministry.
Full-time Worship Ministry Leaders
- Mike Bundon, Smithwood Baptist, Knoxville, TN
Experience is a good teacher, and Mike served in one church for thirty years through thick and thin (not talking about Mike's size - grin).  This brother made a practice of loving and serving the Lord and his people, and continues today as interim at Smithwood in Knoxville.  Fulltime worship ministers, this is refueling time for you.
Part-time Music Ministers
- Gene Skaggs, Westwood Baptist, Nashville
Gene is an experienced bivocational music minister.  He knows about the challenges of balancing job, family, and church ministry.  He will help part-time music leaders to know where you can find materials, how to plan for worship and ministry, and share with you in addressing the challenges of time management.
Keyboard Players (piano/organ/keyboard) - Todd Arnold, First Baptist, Cookeville
Pianists, organists, and other keyboard players, you will learn from this pianist turned fulltime music minister. The class will address playing in services where multiple styles are used, and help you know how to support congregational singing, and how to play from leadsheets and chord charts as well as discover resources to help you serve at whichever bench you occupy.  You will appreciate Todd's ministry spirit and teacher enthusiasm.
Preschool Music Leaders - Dora Ann Purdy, Growing in Grace - Brentwood
Dora Ann literally "wrote the book," or at least lots of music and edited more for preschoolers and children.  As a curriculum editor and developer at Growing in Grace she will share that resource as well as from Lifeway and other publishers, and give tips for working with preschoolers in your church.  Preschool leaders will appreciate her wealth of knowledge and loving spirit demonstrating her heart for investing in the lives of preschoolers and their families.
Children Music Leaders - Terry Taylor, Growing in Grace, Brentwood
Terry Taylor has years of experience as a church musician and in writing music and curriculum for children. He is a great resource for creative ways to minister through music to children and their families.  He serves as curriculum developer for Growing in Grace children's music curriculum and is familiar with Lifeway materials and other resources, having written for those publishers as well.  You will hear creative ideas for reaching your community through children's music as well as learn techniques for helping children sing their praises to God.
Audio-Visual Tech Operators - Joy Jenkins Baker, West Jackson Baptist Church & Internally Sound
Church audio-visual technicians will hear the basics of good sound mixing, basic visual presentation considerations, and will then be led from there based on the experience level of those participants present.  Joy grew up learning to mix sound and operate technology.  She has been serving in media operation at West Jackson as well as continuing work with her dad's (Phil Jenkins) company, Internally Sound.  Send your tech operators and trainees to hear from this gifted young technician/musician.
