TBMB Staff Positions Available:
Stewardship Development Specialist
Primary Function: Lead Tennessee Baptist Mission Board in a coordinated and focused system of resource development focused on increasing Cooperative Program participation. Resource churches with training and encouragement in area of Biblical stewardship. Facilitate design and implementation of development programs which contribute to specific areas of the organization. To participate in the Harvest Field Ministry and contribute to completion of the Objectives of TBMB.
Preferred Qualifications: Four-year college degree. Three to seven years’ experience in related field. Extensive denominational understanding and thorough knowledge of Baptist polity. Experience in development work and fundraising activities. Experience in speaking and conducting group conferences as well as one on one engagements with individuals of means. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
The successful candidate must be an active member of a Baptist church that has a proven record of support of Baptist causes and missions through the Cooperative Program with a strong commitment to reaching and saving the lost. An obvious call of God marked by a life of integrity and continual spiritual growth is required.
Physical Requirements: Able to sit and stand for an extended period, communicates by phone, utilize computer, keyboard and mouse. Frequently stands and walks extended distances. Able to communicate effectively with individuals in small groups and large gatherings. Frequently bends/stoops, reaches hands and arms in any direction, pushes/pulls, lifts and carries up to 35 pounds, identifies and distinguishes colors and can work irregular hours. Occasionally reaches, kneels, balances, lifts and carries up to 100 pounds. Must be able to drive automobile and travel long distances as well as stay in public lodging.
WMU Ministry Assistant – WMU Group
Primary Function: Provide administrative assistance and support within assigned ministry areas based on Tennessee Baptist Mission Board (TBMB) defined processes and systems. Perform clerical and organizational tasks required for the successful accomplishment of ministry assignment, tasks and events. Facilitate work of various ministry specialists and related volunteers as assigned. Respond to constituent churches in effective and helpful manner. Contribute in all phases of responsibilities to the Mission and Objectives of the organization.
Education: High School diploma required, two years plus of college preferred
Experience: One to three years related work experience.
Physical Requirements: Continuously sits at desk utilizing computer and phone. Occasionally stands and walks. Frequently bends/stoops, pushes/pulls, identify and distinguish colors, lifts and carries up to 10 lbs. Occasionally squats, walks extended distances, reaches above shoulder, kneels, balances, lifts and carries up to 50 pounds.
