The ministry project this year will benefit The Care Center in Jackson. The Care Center is an interdenominational Christian organization that God has called to give aid to homeless and abused women, and women with children. The Care Center deals with women and children from multiple circumstances that would leave them homeless or in need of a different place to live to escape their life as they know it and rebuild a new life for the future. In the 23 years of existence, The Care Center has housed over 3,300 women and children at no charge to them during their entire stay which could exceed a year depending on the severity of the need. They provide housing, food, toiletries, laundry, counseling, clothing, and more as it is available.

We are collecting deodorant, Dove bar soap, Dial Gold Antibacterial bar soap, toothpaste, razors, shampoo, conditioner, towels, washcloths, paper towels, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, hairbrushes, single bed sheet sets –Twin XL, pillows, dishwashing liquid (antibacterial), HE Tide detergent for front loader machines, HE Downy softener, bleach, pads of paper, pens, cleaning supplies for entire house, Febreze, kitchen size garbage bags, yard size trash bags, gallon size freezer bags, Pinesol (antibacterial), Pledge, Lysol Spray, diapers (asst. sizes), diaper wipes, and copy paper.

OPTIONAL MISSION ACTION:
We have an opportunity to serve The Care Center on Friday morning prior to the Fall Event for Women. Possible projects could be arts & crafts with the children, praying with the women that are there or serving in some other capacity. Exact service projects will be determined closer to event. This is an optional activity and there is no extra charge to participate. There are a limited number of spots available. Please let us know of your interest in participation on the registration form. Other ministry projects will be available as appropriate. Meet at the church by 9:30 on Friday morning for specific assignment. Lunch is not provided. Registration for the Fall Event begins at 1:30.

BREAKOUT CONFERENCES:

We’ve got a fantastic line-up of breakout conferences for the weekend that we can’t wait to share with you!  Check them out below.

Join me in looking for more intentional ways to discover a walk of prayer that is deeper and growing in my busy, daily life.

Be Transformed through Solitude led by Judy Harvey – Solitude, we’re told, is “the condition of being alone, isolation, or a lonely or secluded place.” How do we learn to value this condition or place and see a key spiritual connection to our growth and effectiveness as followers of Christ and Kingdom servants? Come and explore how God created us to be refreshed, equipped and Transformed through solitude.

Because He Loves Me led by LS – Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the commands of Scripture? Do you struggle to remember the gospel as you go about your daily routine? Hear how God’s love for us in Christ transforms every aspect of the Christian life.

Lord, I Surrender led by Rita Carr – As Christians when we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ we relinquish every area of our lives to Him. Yet, surrendering our desires, sins, wants, plans and goals to the Lord and allowing Him to perform His divine and perfect will for our lives. Yet, even greater seeing Him perform in and through us a greater plan for our lives than we could ever imagine for His glory.

Transform your Bible Study led by Katie Orr – Learn an easy-to-use Bible study method that will help you break through surface-level Bible study in order to experience a deep and transformational time in God’s Word—all in as little as 15 minutes a day. Equipping you to study the Bible on your own—leading to significant spiritual growth—through this quick yet effective approach to Bible study.

Lives Transformed through Christian Women’s Job Corps led by Janice Carter – There are women all around us trying to make ends meet. CWJC can take them to the next level by providing job skills, one-on-one mentoring, life skills, and most importantly the gospel through Bible study.
