Objective:

The purpose of this partnership is to demonstrate God's love by effectively presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every individual in Iowa through agreed upon volunteer strategies and projects.

Iowa's People:

  • 92% are native to the state
  • Primarily settled by German and Scandinavian immigrants
  • Hard working
  • Family oriented
  • Well educated
  • Largest denominations are: Lutheran, Catholic, Methodist
  • Culturally conservative, but open-minded
  • Slow to make major changes

Fact:

  • 95 congregations in 49 of 99 counties
  • 79 churches and 13 missions
  • 50 counties without a Southern Baptist church
  • 1 church/mission for every 31,500 persons
  • 6 collegiate ministries on 5 campuses
  • 7 associations served by 5 associational Missionary/Church Starter strategists
