Get away to spend time with your son in an outdoor setting. Fathers and sons will have a unique bonding time as they spend three days camping, cooking and hiking in the backcountry of East Tennessee. Experience a three-day, two-night backpacking trip on the Appalachian trail. You will experience 5 miles each day in the seclusion of the backcountry of the Cherokee and Pisgah National Forest. We will begin our journey on the Appalachian Trail on Green Corner Rd just off of I-40.
Our first night we will stay on Snowbird Mountain at 4249 ft. Snowbird is a open bald mountain top with a spectacular view of the night sky. Day two we hike to Browns Gap at 3500 ft. This campsite is under a full canopy of trees that will give you the experience of camping in the backcountry. We will end our trip with a 360-degree view of the Appalachian Mountains on Max Patch. At 4,629 ft in elevation, you will experience breath-taking views where you can see God’s fingerprint in His creation. During this trip you will experience 3 days of beautiful scenery, no cell phones and good fellowship with other fathers and sons.
Cost $150, per father/son. This includes one night in the conference center (Thursday), breakfast Friday morning and transportation to and from trail.
