Experience a three-day, two-night backpacking trip on the Appalachian trail. You will experience approximately 5 miles each day of the seclusion of the backcountry of the Cherokee and Pisgah National Forest. We will begin our journey on the Appalachian Trail at Allen Gap at 2,300 ft. We will spend our first night on Spring Mountain at 3,600 ft. We will see one of the many shelters on the AT that was built in 1938. There will be many scenic views as well as a old fire tower to explore. This campsite will give us a view of the night sky in the midst of a wooded forest. On day two, we will stay on Tanyard Gap at 2,300 ft., under a canopy of trees. We will conclude our trip in Hot Springs NC at 1,357 ft. Hot Springs is a small backpacking community that welcomes thousands of backpackers every year that are hiking through the Appalachian Trail. During this trip you will experience 3 days of beautiful scenery, no cell phones, and good fellowship with like-minded pastors.
