The theme can be read two ways. Yes, prayer matters. British poet Alfred Tennyson famously (and rightly) stated, “More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.”
Then, there are matters that drive us to prayer. Each banquet will feature one speaker who will develop a different matter in the life of the pastor that drives us to prayer. When all the “Banquet and a Program” banquets are completed, the seven messages will be packaged as a set and made available to all who attended the banquet closest to their field of ministry.
Each banquet will include a time of fellowship around the table, a marriage enrichment moment, door prizes, a message of encouragement designed to help equip for pastoral service, worship through music, and a time of focused prayer.
COST: $15 per couple/$8 per individual for the banquet
Ernest Easley, longtime pastor and now director of the Lockerman Leadership Institute for bivocational pastors, will focus on Standing in the Need of Prayer, equipping pastors to develop congregational prayer ministries that include an unapologetic recognition that the pastor and his family need the prayer support of their congregation.
