Are you a high school student, grades 10-12, with a passion for missions?  Join the VENTURE TEAM! We are looking for top level students to launch a Venture that will LEAD other youth to be strategically engaged in missions for years to come.

What you will do: You will be challenged, discipled and mentored in a strategic missions lifestyle through Bible studies and training/equipping events with mission leaders and missionaries, serve at TBMB and WMU statewide mission events, attend a team retreat in July 2021, and participate in a mission trip summer of 2022.

(The mission trip will be summer of 2022, for 5-7 days, focused on reaching internationals, and will be within 8 hours driving distance.  Date and location TBD.) 

Mission Statement:
Equipping missional students to venture upward, inward, and outward.

  • Upward- focused on and pursuing God
  • Inward-Growing through authentic accountability and the spiritual disciplines
  • Outward-living on mission, prioritizing God’s global glory

Purpose Statement:

It is the goal of TN Youth Venture Team to seek out student leaders who are dedicated to growing upward (Matt. 6:33) through their focus and pursuit of God, growing inward (Psalm 119:10-11) by means of authentic spiritual discipline and accountability, and growing outward (Romans 1:16) prioritizing God’s message of salvation to a lost world; all while motivating and guiding their peers to do the same.



Requirements:

  • Must be entering the 10th grade or be 15 years old by August 15.
  • Must be a member of a TBMB affiliated church.
  • Must be an active participant in a local Acteens, Challengers, Youth on Mission, or in a student ministry with a strong missions element.
  • Must be able to serve from June 1 to May 31.
  • Must agree to participate in team required activities.
  • Must have parents’ signed consent to serve on team.
  • Must submit your online application by the deadline, May 15, 2021. Applications must include an individual photo, parents’ consent and signature, answers to questions, and two completed reference forms. Only fully complete applications will be considered. Team applications will be accepted April 1 through May 15.

Team involvement possibilities:

  • Attend weekend team retreat (July 2021)
  • Participate in Mentoring and Leadership Training requiring approximately 1 hour/week for 4 months. (World Christian study and God’s Invitation study)
  • Complete 20 mission service hours opportunities through WMU, TBMB, or affiliated entities such as:
    – State or regional WMU events: Get-Together/Connection, JAM, RA Camp-O-Ree, RA Wilderness Challenge,
    – TBMB Events – YEC, Super Summer, Impact Camp, Summit
  • Focused service with one project or a mission trip- lead or assist leading  (learning how to do logistics, training, speaking in front, etc.)
  • Tennessee WMU will provide a mentor and mentorship materials, a weekend retreat in July of 2021, opportunities for fun and team bonding, and will pay their registration and lodging for up to 3 nights when they serve at an event, and will guide them in fundraising for a mission trip.

We are looking for 8 high school students, grades 10-12, from around the state to launch our all new TENNESSEE YOUTH VENTURE TEAM.

Do you have an amazing high school student with a passion for missions?  Invite them to apply for the VENTURE TEAM! We are looking for top level students to launch a Venture that will LEAD other youth to be strategically engaged in missions for years to come.  This will not take them away from your youth group, but will make them a co-worker with you in leading your group to pursue God and His purposes!

The application and 2 reference forms must be completed online by May 15, 2021. The term of service will begin June 1, 2021
