Tahoe City – Send TN Missions Opportunities

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

For the past 60 years, First Baptist Church of Tahoe City has been sharing the love of God with those who live, work, and play in the resort communities of North Tahoe. One of the church’s biggest ministries is its A+ children’s program, in which summer missionaries will serve. This program consists of a year-round preschool as well as an after-school program and summer camp for older school-age children. The hours will be long and the work will be hard, but the opportunity will be worth it! You’ll also have the opportunity to assist with ministry at special events, ministry to international students, youth ministry, and the worship team. While you serve you will be supervised by a team of people with years of experience in resort ministry and caring for children.

Typical Monday – Friday Schedule:

7:45am: Staff gathering (reminders about the day/pep talk)

8:00am: Preschool opens

Morning: School age staff participate in a variety of things depending on the day of the week (My Morning Out, helping teachers at local elementary school, cleaning tasks, community outreach projects)

1:00pm: Transitional Kindergarten – Kindergarten children arrive

2:00pm: 1-6 children begin to arrive. In the afternoon, missionaries teaching school-age will teach Bible studies, lead crafts, guide recreation, and build gospel-centered relationships.

5:00pm: Children’s ministry closes for the day. When parents pick up their children, it’s a great opportunity to build relationships with parents. Also, during this time, there are a variety of cleaning jobs to help get ready for the next day.
