“When I consider the Kingdom partnership between churches and the TN BCM, I am quickly drawn to the impact that is made when churches send incoming freshmen student names and contact info to TN BCMs where their students will be attending. Churches invest tremendous time, finances, and resources in order to give spiritual guidance to these students. TN BCM wants to build upon the great spiritual foundation you have instilled in your students and help them become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. This happens when we work together to reach our TN universities for Christ!”

Some Practical Ways Your Church Can Support Baptist Collegiate Ministries Across Tennessee:

  • Provide meals for outreach events, weekly lunch programs or even worship nights.
  • Help fund a campus missionary by giving to your local BCM.
  • Partner with the BCM in doing an outreach event on campus.
  • Provide a list of incoming students from your church who could benefit from the ministry of the BCM or be further mobilized to reach the campus in partnership with the BCM.
  • Consider providing a stable housing situation for a BCM campus missionary.
  • Begin promoting BCM to high schoolers during their time in student ministry.
  • Identify wise/seasoned members within the church who would be willing to mentor and disciple college students.
  • Host an international student during school/holiday breaks, monthly encounters, etc.
  • Provide care packages/hygiene/dorm supplies to newly arrived international students.
  • Adopt an international student and meet with the student to help improve his/her English skills through conversations.
  • Adopt a summer missionary by praying, giving to their field costs, and providing the student an opportunity to share their summer experience at your local church.

Specific Ways You Can Pray for Tennessee BCM:

  • Pray that the believers on campus would feel encouraged by Christ and burdened for the many lost students around them.
  • Pray lost students, faculty, and staff would hear the life-changing news of the Gospel and they would respond excitedly, hungrily, and affirmingly to it.
  • Pray student leaders and Campus Ministers would be sensitive to how the Lord is leading them to engage the campus.
  • Pray students will experience spiritual growth through discipleship and will be mobilized to serve.
  • Pray students would find a welcoming, warm, Christ-centered community in the BCM.
  • Pray for favor with the administration of the university.
  • Pray for revival to take place on each of the campuses.
  • Pray student leaders will answer God’s call to be His witness to the unreached nations of the world through TN BCM missions mobilization efforts.
