TBC Staff Positions:

Worship Specialist

Primary Function: Responsible for leading the worship and music ministries of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board by assisting churches with leadership and resources that will enhance their awareness of the importance of worship, develop their music program, and enable congregations to experience authentic biblical worship.  Contribute in all phases of responsibilities to the Mission and Objectives of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications: Four-year college degree with some seminary, preferably in worship/music.  Ten years or more of related work experience required. Denominational experience and working with churches and associations as well as good knowledge of Baptist polity.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

The successful candidate will demonstrate Biblical worship theology that is solid, well-articulated, Bible-centered, and Christ-exalting.  Candidate will possess a heart for worship renewal, be relationally strong, connecting well with others, and demonstrate genuine care.  Should be musically capable, having demonstrated success in music ministry leadership and be comfortable in diverse worship environments.

Physical Requirements:   Frequently sits at desk, communicates by phone, and utilizes computer, keyboard and mouse.   Frequently stands and walks extended distances.  Able to communicate effectively with individuals in small groups and large gatherings.  Frequently reaches hands and arms in any direction, pushes/pulls, lifts and carries up to 35 pounds, identifies and distinguishes colors and is able to work overtime and irregular hours.     Occasionally reaches, kneels, balances, lifts and carries 35 – 75 pounds. Must be able to drive and travel long distances.

 

Ministry Assistant – Baptism Objective Group

Primary Function: Provide administrative assistance and support within assigned ministry areas based on TBMB defined processes and systems. Perform clerical and organizational tasks required for the successful accomplishment of ministry assignment, tasks and events. Facilitate work of various ministry specialist and related volunteers as assigned. Respond to constituent churches in effective and helpful manner. Contribute in all phases of responsibilities to the Mission and Objectives of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma with two years’ college or vocational/technical school

Experience: One to three years related work experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of general office skills and procedures

Physical Requirements: Physically able to sit at a desk for an extended period of each day, answer telephone handset, utilize computer keyboard and mouse, and verbally communicate with co-workers and guests in work area. Physically move from desk to central work areas for copies, supplies, files and other materials, and able to participate in a variety of staff and other types of meetings. Occasional bending, standing or stooping. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 50 pounds.
