Project Description
Come serve as a Summer Mentor, where you’ll daily minister to and share your life with students (ages 6-16) from crisis situations. Mentors help provide a surrogate family for children who have a problem in the home which they did not create. Our vision at Wears Valley Ranch is to see each child inspired to follow Christ, healed from the past, and equipped to reach their potential. Mentors are essential to accomplishing this vision!
Formal responsibilities of Mentors will include teaching English Language Arts, Math, or Social Studies to individual students for two hours each day, if the Mentor feels comfortable doing so. Other responsibilities include caring for students during House Parents’ days off, assisting House Parents in discipling students, providing consistent discipline of students, supervising students during recreation and as they complete chores. If Mentors are interested, they could help lead music during daily chapel service and could receive coaching in sermon prep & delivery. In addition, Mentors may go on vacation with House Parents. Weekly meetings with Ranch leadership will be held for discussion, instruction, & coaching.
